We are making a peel off face mask. We decided the peel off face mask because of the benefits to the skin from all of the ingredients we are using. It's also cheaper than store-bought and more healthy. All the ingredients we bought give us more inventory for more use.

The ingredients we used can all be bought on amazon. We used activated charcoal (20 teaspoons, $4.99/ 1.2oz.), gelatin (20 tablespoons, $12.69/ 32 envelopes). We decided to use gelatin because it is a good adhesive and is a small source of amino acids. Honey (10 teaspoons, $3.00/ 12oz.), aloe vera (10 teaspoons, $9.99/ 8 oz.), and water is hydrating and brings all the ingredients together. The top three ingredients that we used are aloe vera, activated charcoal, and honey. Aloe vera is good for the skin and leaves it hydrated and moisturized. Its safe because it has antioxidants, enzymes, and a great resource of vitamin A and C. (source: bcm.edu/news/hairandskin). We used activated charcoal because it's great for achieving a flawless complexion. It's safe because it draws bacteria, chemicals, dirt and other micro particles from the skin (source: www.livestong.com). We chose honey because we knew it would be a great adhesive ingredient and it would help with the “peel” of the mask. It's safe because its a natural antibacterial, full of antioxidants, and a complexion boost that is extremely moisturizing and soothing (source: www.sheknows.com).

The procedure for making a face mask is first measuring out all of the ingredients that we need for the face mask. Next we need to mix bentonite clay and activated charcoal in a bowl. Along with that we boil the water in another Bowl. With the boiled water, pour in the bentonite clay and the charcoal mixture with the gelatin and tip the bowl to the side and stir the mixture until it is dissolved and it gets to a thick paste. Use a brush to apply the mask all over your face keep away from hairline and eyebrows. Apply two or three coats of the face mask and let dry to about 30 to 45 minutes. When your mask is dry peel it off gently upward.

In the end this product is very easy to make and the ingredients are things you can use after you make your face mask too. This face mask made our skin smooth and it was a fun diy to make.
