INTRODUCTION💖

Hello, and thank you for viewing our blog! This blog was created for a project we had in Chemistry Class. in the project we had to, by scratch, make a product that someone could easily try and use. We, personally, are not artsy people, let alone chemistry people. Despite not being either of those things, we both decided to tackle something quite difficult. The product we decided to produce was a Spray in Conditioner. You might think “Oh, that isn’t hard.” But you must first consider how many hair types there are. Ranging from 1a-4c, dry and greasy; hair is a very broad subject to take on. For the conditioner we tried to make a spray that would cater to all hair types. In the end it benefited 4C hair the most but feel free to try it for yourself.

Materials🤩

  • Canned coconut milk, About 4 oz. You will be able to buy this on Amazon or at your local grocery store. Coconut milk helps dandruff, skin, and scalp infections along with a dry, itchy scalp. It will soften the hair and make it smoother.

  • Coconut Oil, About 2 oz, you can add as much as you want that favors your hair type. You should be able to buy this on Amazon or at any grocery store. Coconut oil helps with hair growth. It prevents breakage and split ends. Benefits of Coconut Milk

  • Argon Oil, recommend 4 drops, you can add as many drops that your hair type needs. You can buy this product on Amazon or at your local drug store. Agron Oil eliminates dandruff and dry scalp. It also protects your hair from the heat of blow dryers and flat irons.Benefits of Argon oil

  • Aloe Vera, recommend 5 drops, or you can add as desired. You can buy this on Amazon or at local drug stores. Aloe Vera helps hair growth and itching. Also, it reduces dandruff and conditions your hair. Benefits of Aloe Vera Gel

  • You can use any scent you want. We used Tea Tree Oil. (recommend 2 drops) You can find this product on Amazon or local Walmart or local hair store. Tea tree helps also with dandruff and lice. Benefits of Tea Tree Oil

  • Distilled Water (recommend 2 fl oz) You can find this anywhere. You need this to help take the product a spray.

WHAT 2 DO🏳️‍🌈

First, we gathered all of our ingredients. The coconut oil, coconut milk, and distilled water went into the mixing bowl. We then started. The first problem we ran into is that the coconut oil wouldn’t combine and dissolve into the other ingredients. We first tried to reprimand this by putting it into a blender. This attempt proved futile because of the coconut oil still floated intact to the top. then we decided to boil it, which did work. We learned that coconut oil only does all that high temperatures, so if the other contents were too cold, it wasn’t going to work. We Learned that coconut oil only dissolves those high temperatures, so if the other contents were too cold, it wasn’t going to work. We then whisk together the contents. When everything is finally mixed, you can add your five drops of Aloe Vera, Argon oil, and Tea Tree oil. Lastly, we poured our contents into a spray bottle and shook it well before every use.

CONCLUSION AND REFLECTION🗿

All in all, I quite enjoyed the outcome of our product. The scent that the spray gave reminded me of Hask shampoo which is one of my favorite products. Aloe Vera has proteolytic enzymes which help repair dead skin cells on the scalp. Tea tree oil helps clear up hair follicles which makes it easier for the roots of the hair to be healthy. Coconut oil helps strengthen hair which results in less breakage and longer and healthier hair. Being completely transparent, making the product was stressful. The procedure given to us did not work as anticipated. We had to take matters into our own hands. Playing it by ear was not ideal, but now we know what to improve on to make a better product next time. Thanks for viewing our blog and I hope that next time you think about hair, you think about using this product as well! A few days after we made our product we realized the milk was going to spoil. However it was too late so we suggest that you refrigerate it to keep it fresh and clean!!
