We decided to make perfume, specifically bubblegum scented. Smelling good is a big part of a lot of people’s lives and is important to us both. Our product is simple to make and smells really good. The recipe is extremely simple and anyone can make it. While making it, we were over thinking it by adding unnecessary ingredients. Now the process is easy. Next time we could make more or use a different flavor.

We only used 2 materials, water and bubblegum essential oil. At first, we tried using a carrier oil, like coconut oil, instead of water since it dilutes the essential oil. We learned that water does this even better. The water can just be tap water. Most perfumes use alcohol as a base ingredient, but water increases the scent intensity and longevity. More can be read about here. You can buy essential oils of any scent at most Walmarts. Essential oils are better than buying perfume from the store, because most perfumes contain phthalate, which are from phthalic acid. They can be absorbed through the skin and damage it over time. They are explained more here.

The procedure is quite simple. While we were experimenting, we put the essential oil in coconut oil, but it sprayed like it was a normal oil. Then we tried adding water to the mix which made the container spray a soap-like substance. We got a new container and tried just water and the essential oil which worked perfectly. All you need to do if fill a container with water, then add a drop of the essential oil of your choice for each three ounces of water you are using. After that, shake up the contained for about thirty seconds. Now you have an easy to refill perfume bottle that smells fantastic!

In the end, we learned to not over complicate our problems. Some stuff can be made cheaper and easier. The perfume product is easy to make. It is also a nicer, cheaper, and safer way of having a perfume that smells good and lasts a long time. It does not contain harmful chemicals like phthalic acid and can be made with ingredients that might already be in your own home. The scent is also extremely flexible, since you can add any type of essential oil you want.
