DIY projects can sometimes be though of as time consuming or not worth it. We wanted to make sure this statement was not true for our project. We are making an oatmeal based face mask that can moisturize and replenish skin. It is a very simple 3 step project that takes less than 15 minutes to make. We believe this is the best kind of face mask because while simple and time efficient it also all natural and healthy. Our experience with DIY projects started with the lip balm we made a couple weeks ago in class. We agreed that while it was not difficult it wasn’t as easy to get the materials needed.

We chose to use ingredients that lots of people may have in their home already. Our 3 easy ingredients are, egg whites, honey, and of course, rolled oats. This makes it very doable for almost everyone if they want to try it for themselves.

Oatmeal is very helpful in treating acne and absorb excess oil on your face. It is also helpful in removing dead skin cells to make your face look overall better. According to food.ndtv.com oatmeal is one of the best natural skin care items in the world.

Our second ingredient is honey. Honey is known for its ability to slow down aging in the face preventing wrinkles and creating smoother skin. Sheknows.com goes into detail about how beneficial honey is for skin including an explanation as to why it is so helpful.

The last ingredient is egg whites. While the only real health advantage they provide is being able to tighten your skin up with the protein in them they are very good for holding the mixture together while also maintaining its natural make-up. Medicalnewstoday.com does give a few examples of minor benefits egg whites have for your skin.

Step 1: Grind 4 tablespoons of rolled oats, pour oats into blender and grind them into powder form. Pour them into a bowl.

Step2: Measure one tablespoon of honey and pour it over the oat powder in a bowl, mix the honey and oats until they become a mixture.

Step3:Crack an egg without the yolk breaking. Pour out the egg white also, and then pour the yolk into a bowl with the honey and oatmeal. Mix the ingredients firmly until they form a paste.

Tip:If you have oily skin, use a little bit of lemon juice to help clean away excess oil.

In conclusion, Me and my partner plan on making an oatmeal facial mask to prevent you from having itchy or irritating skin on your face. It will leave your face smooth, can pamper yourDIY projects can sometimes be though of as time consuming or not worth it. We wanted to make sure this statement was not true for our project.
