Are you looking for a lip balm that actually works? Me and Richa have a recipe we saw and tried it out and it worked for us. So, we are here to share that recipe and some of our process of making it.

The ingredients are:

  • 8.6g coconut oil

  • 2.9g beeswax

  • 6.4g mango butter

You can also add fragrances or colors to make it more fun.

This will be enough for more than 1 lip balm tube.

Instructions

  1. Measure your ingredients in a container and put them all inside of a jar

  2. Add half way water in your pot, place your jar inside the pot and make sure no water gets in the jar and mix with your ingredients

  3. Boil until all ingredients melt. If water evaporates before all ingredients are melted add more water in your pot.

  4. When they are melted add your fragrance and color powder if you chose to use them. Then stir.

  5. Pour the product into lip balm tubes or tins.

  6. Let your product sit for at least 5-10 minutes for it to become completely solid.

With this particular recipe we were able to make about 5 containers of lip balm.

When we tried this the second time we doubled our ingredient measurement and our product wasn’t as solid as the previous one and because the odor of shea butter was so strong we weren’t really able to smell the lavender fragrance . That's why we used mango butter instead of shea butter.
