D.I.Y. Face Mist

Our product is a face mist, its purpose is to refresh and relax the skin. Our product is the best version because it's a simple, and natural recipe that doesn't use a bunch of harmful chemicals. It cools and refreshes the skin. Once you spritz it on your face it rests and melts onto the skin for a cool touch. Making your own recipe gives you the satisfaction of knowing exactly what's in it, plus it’s a fun and easy way to learn something new and exciting. We’ve made other products in the past such as lip bomb etc. so we knew things but still learned from making a cosmetic product. It went better than our original plan since it actually had an effect on the skin. Next time we would experiment with different oils to see the different effects they would have. Peppermint, Lavender, & Chamomile Essential Oil - Essential Oils Set, Aromatherapy 10 Essential Oils Set $19.88

We used three essential oils in our product, lavender, chamomile, and peppermint. Although our original plan was slightly different, all of these oils have benefits to your skin. Lavender is calming and speeds healing(scars, etc), chamomile is calming and soothing, and peppermint is refreshing and reviving. We used a few(around six) drops of each essential oil and around ten ounces of water. The water dilutes the oil while helping them join together as well as refreshing and moisturizing skin. Originally, we wanted to use frankincense because it is known to calm anxiety and reduce stress, as well as reduce pain and boost immunity. That wasn’t available to us, so we used peppermint instead. We started making the product by pouring water into a pot. Then, we added each of our oils and stirred the mixture. We were supposed to have ten ounces of face mist, to fill five two-ounce spray bottles. We made enough to fill four and a half, so we had to make more of our product. Because of this, our last bottle had slightly more oil and smelled a little stronger than the others.

In conclusion, the process of making our product didn’t go exactly as planned, but it still turned out well. Our product is important because it can help other students like us feel awake and refreshed, but calm and soothed as well. Our ingredients work well because our face mist feels nice, and has all of the effects that we wanted it to have.
